Unit 1 Summative Assignment:
Directions: You will respond to the question “How did the Constitution guard against tyranny?”
- Use the rubric to guide your writing. The first thing you should do is completely read the rubric.
- Please note how the rubric scores the essay – out of 7 points. Each part of the rubric is important.
- Please read every page of the attachment “Unit 1 Exam – How did the Constitution Guard Against Tyranny?” In addition to using the provided background essay and the four provided documents, you will reference other resources we utilized in class like:
- the Discovery Ed “Origins of Government” reading
- the Discovery Ed “American Government” reading
- the various Constitution assignments we did in class. (scavenger hunt, “Do I have a right?” game, etc.)
- Use parenthetical references. Example:
- (Origins of Government, Discovery Education)
- (Document B)
- (US Constitution)
- Reread the rubric.
- Due Sunday, 8/30 – meaning you have Sunday to work on it.
- No excuses for it being late – you have all class period to work on it today, plus the weekend.
- Turn it in on CTLS.
